My name is YUJIAO WANG. I majored in Spanish at Heilongjiang International University. From 2017 to 2018, I studied at Juan Carlos University in Madrid as an international exchange student. Last year, I worked as an intern in a Shanghai law firm for three months. I was responsible for assisting lawyers to translate and sort out some foreign-related projects.
Why did you decide to study a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Tecnocampus – UPF?
I chose this major because I want to realize my self-worth and challenge myself. I believe I can make a difference even if I look ordinary. I don’t want to work in a step-by-step way. I think with the development of The Times, we need to constantly innovate something new and inject some new power into The Times. And now China is strengthening to encourage entrepreneurs to start their own businesses, I think this entrepreneurship and innovation can make their own rapid growth.
Tell us about your project
Our project is to open an authentic traditional Chinese hotpot restaurant in Barcelona. Our value proposition is to allow customers to enjoy authentic hotpot with traditional Chinese style decoration, so that customers are immersed in the scene. The hotpot restaurant in Barcelona has a big market. As more and more Chinese students choose to study in Barcelona, and Barcelona’s developed tourism attracts more and more Chinese tourists to visit, and the number of Chinese residents in Barcelona is second only to the number one Italian. As a traditional Chinese diet, hot pot is the first choice for family dinner and friends gathering. So we chose to open a traditional Chinese hotpot with authentic taste but high cost performance.
I think our project is to attract investors, because there are good markets, to my personal experience in Barcelona, found that the surrounding students, tourists and local residents are frequent visit Barcelona only several hotpot restaurant, but is generally believed that taste insufficient tunnel and the price is favorable, if there is a high performance/price ratio, and taste authentic hotpot restaurant they happily frequented. It is also important that our project has a flexible time to market, because we have a stable supplier of ingredients and sufficient service staff in Barcelona. And I’ve found that local people in Barcelona are also interested in Chinese food. The Chinese restaurants near the Arc De Triomf are full of local residents of Barcelona, because Chinese food has captured the public’s imagination with more flavor and fullness at lower prices than local restaurants.
How is your experience in the Tecnocampus program and your perception of the institution. What plans do you have when you finish your master’s degree?
At present, I have learned a lot of useful knowledge in Tecnocampus. I have listened to many teachers and the practical experience of entrepreneurs, from which I have learned a lot of entrepreneurial experience. So when I finished my master’s program I had the idea of working in Barcelona for a while to gain some practical experience.
